Terms and conditions when renting with Kauai Condo Vacations (08/11/2020) Please read these terms and respond by email that you agree.First, thanks for renting one of our beautiful condo homes. Online reservations are subject to approval of this rental agency.
Our properties are all individually owned. Please respect the property of the owner. Some Lae nani condos DO NOT have air conditioning . There are exceptions for some with a/c in bedrooms and many we manage with split a/c). We have the cool breezes off the Pacific Ocean most of the year. Kauai Beach Resort condo has a/c in your room. Kauai Kailani has split system A/C's. Check with the reservationist for full details.
Ocean Safety
Minimum Stay
We rent accommodations on a nightly, weekly, and monthly (28 day) basis. Minimum stay for many units are 4 nights (some peak times
require a longer stay).
Advance Deposit and Payment
When making a reservation, we require a non-refundable $250 deposit . No refunds will be made due to early departure for any reason (except National Hurricane Center evacuation orders), Regrettably, we must charge a 4.5% fee if you use a non-US credit card.
We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover. Payment of the remaining amount is due 60 days prior to arrival (At 60 days we will automatically process your credit card for the remaining amount.) We advise that you take out the Rental Guardian Travelers Insurance Policy at the time of booking for those unexpected problems during your trip.
Personal checks can be accepted if your arrival date is not within 60 days of booking.
If you are making your reservation within 30 days of arrival full payment will be due at that time.
Damage Waiver
We do not hold damage deposits but include a damage waiver plan that covers unintentional damages to the rental unit interior that occur during your stay, provided they are disclosed to management prior to check-out. The waiver will pay a maximum benefit of $1,000. Any damages that exceed $1,000 will be charged to the credit card on file. If, during your stay at one of our Rental Properties, a covered Person causes any damage to real or personal property of the unit as a result of inadvertent acts or omissions,we will reimburse the owner for the cost of repair or replacement of such property up to a maximum benefit of $1,000. Certain terms and conditions apply. The damage waiver is purchased when the reservation is made. You agree to be responsible for ANY damages to the condo and it's contents over $1000.
What if something Happens? Simply report any damage that may have occurred during your stay to us at Dream Vacations Kauai before you check out. Don't be afraid to report any damage (that is why we include the damage waiver).
The waiver covers "unintentional" damages. Any damages from misuse and loss or damage to towels/linens are not covered. You are hereby authorizing Kauai Condo Vacations to charge the credit card on file for these damages.
Cancellation Policy and delayed flights (Updated Aug. 11, 2020 and applies to bookings after that date)
On occasion, flights are delayed or even canceled. Our policy is not to grant refunds, partial or otherwise, for airline problems. We recommend trip insurance to cover these occurrences.

We encourage all guests to heed posted signs at Kauai's beaches. ANY ocean can be hazardous and your personal safety should be a prime concern. Rip currents, large waves, marine animals, rocks and reefs, and other hazards may be found at beaches around Kauai. Check out the Kauai Beach Guide on the app store.

Cancellation or change of reserved dates after the deposit is made and after 60 days before arrival will result in loss of all payments.
Arrival Time (No check-in required)
Arrival time is 4 p.m. on the day of your arrival . Please do not arrive before this time unless you check with us first. Occasional check-in delays may occur during times of heavy departure. We appreciate your patience . If you want to check in earlier than 4:00, please give us a call the day before your arrival and we will let you know if that is possible.
Housekeeping
Your unit will be clean and ready for use upon arrival. All homes and condos are privately owned and equipped for basic vacation needs. Bed linens and towels are available for the number of guests indicated on the guest agreement. Kitchen utensils and a starter supply of soap and paper products are made available for all rentals. Using condiments that may be in kitchens are at your own risk. We do not clean those containers.
You will need to bring or purchase additional paper or soap supplies.
There are coin operated washers and dryers on the Lae nani property. (A few condos have washer/dryer available to guests)
Departure Time
Departure time is prior to 10 a.m. There will be a fee charged for late departures. There are no refunds for early departures. Even if you don`t want to leave (and we suspect you`ll be sorry to go), we'll need every minute to get the property ready for the next guest. Here are a few things that we expect you to do:
- Make sure all refuse is in outside garbage cans located at locations on the property.
- Place all dirty dishes in dishwasher and start it
- All dirty towels in a pile
Upon departure, if the cleaning crew finds that extra cleaning is needed, the guest authorizes Kauai Condo Vacations, Inc. to charge a credit card on file for this extra service .
Extra cleaning includes, but is not limited to: excessive trash, excessive sand, stains on flooring or furniture (unless damage insurance is purchased as part of the rental), stained linens, dirty dishes, etc.
Keys
Some condos have a lock-box next to the front door. Some have an electronic lock. For lockbox users: you will be given a code to the box. Open the box and use the key to open the door. Inside the condo will be a set of keys to the condo and the pool
Please replace the lock-box key in the lock-box immediately. You will need to put in the code to do this. Electronic lock users will be sent a code to put into the lock for entry,,, no keys are needed.
There will be a $25.00 charge for each set of condo keys not left in condo upon departure. Condo safe keys are $50 . Please secure your keys.
Parking
Parking is available at or near each condo. You will be required to use a parking pass for display in your window. We provide one space for each unit (except for 3 bedroom units). Other vehicles you or island guests may bring MUST park outside of the property.
Condition of Property
We have done our best to describe the property and its furnishings as accurately as possible. However, sometimes an owner will remodel or redecorate a property after the information has been printed. We also make every effort to keep each unit and its equipment in good working order, and to make repairs as soon as possible when we are notified of a problem. No refund or rate adjustment will be made for mechanical failures, such as television , internet or appliances. (No exceptions)
Items to Bring
You will need to bring your own toiletries, food & condiments and a swimsuit or two! The condos are fully furnished down to the blender for those fancy drinks. Condos are provided with 2 extra rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and 1 extra roll of paper towels. Additional paper supplies are your responsibility.
Linen
There is not a daily maid service provided with your rental. Your property will be cleaned and provided with fresh linens before your arrival. For longer rentals, some owners provide for an interim clean at no charge.
Condos are equipped with 2 bath and 1 beach towel per registered guest. We have a laundromat on some properties , some condos have washer/dryer in the unit. If you need to wash/dry during your stay. Additional towels are available at an additional charge.
Occupancy Limits
The maximum occupancy of each unit is stated on the website and contract. Any exceptions must be in writing The units/condos that we rent and it's facilities are for the use of registered guests only and cannot be used for parties, dinners, family re-unions or other gatherings that would cause the occupancy limits to be exceeded. All condos have a 2 outside visitor maximum at any one time.
Construction
Occasionally, a unit may be under a remodel and this will cause some noise. All construction crews are well mannered, and work doesn't begin before 9 a.m. during the week and never on Sunday. If you have problems, please let us know and we'll ask the contractors to be more considerate. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or discounts in the event of construction noise. No exceptions!
Telephones
Some properties are equipped with a telephone for the guests' convenience. In some, outgoing long-distance telephone calls are blocked, but may be made collect or by using a calling card. Some others have internet phone service with free calls to some countries.
Internet, cable TV , appliances and electricity
Our units have internet access. Service is not guaranteed as we are not responsible for internet or tv down time. Please check with our reservation people for more information. Rarely, we have power outages. They normally do not last more than a few minutes. Rarely appliances fail and we will do our
best to have them repaired quickly.
Pets
No pets are allowed in any of our rentals! Should we discover a pet in the unit, you will be charged a fee for pest control, a deep clean, and an additional full day and required to remove the pet from the property.
Smoking
ALL of our properties are designated as non-smoking accommodations. No smoking is permitted anywhere inside of the properties including lanais or on the property grounds.. Should anyone in your group smoke, please have them do so outside at designated smoking areas only. This policy is vigorously enforced . Again, there is an additional fee of $500 for cleaning and damages for those guests found to have smoked in any of our properties.
Lost and Found
Although we cannot be held responsible for items left behind, we do make every effort to locate your item. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. We are happy to return items left by mistake but there will be a handling charge as well as postage.
Hurricane / Tsunami Evacuation
In the event of a Mandatory Evacuation order for the county of Kauai during your stay, we will issue a refund for nights not used. Due to the CSA Policy stating "No refund once a renter has checked into their unit," please be advised that if you have already been checked into your unit/condo at the time of a mandatory/forced evacuation, there will be NO REFUND of the Rental Guardian damage insurance policy amount.
Any other prepaid rental refunds, that are determined to be Valid, will be returned by check only. (Please provide a correct/current mailing address on all reservations.)
Rates
Rates (until advance payment has been received) and policies are subject to change without notice. Rates are subject to applicable lodging taxes in effect during your stay. Rates change according to conditions and after booking there can be no change (up or down) to your rate. You are renting a specific condo
as shown on our website. Each condo is individually owned.
House Rules
Please read a copy of the house rules on the website. All guests are required to abide by the rules for personal and property safety . Click here for copy of House rules.
A copy is also in each condo home. Violation of the house rules may cause a penalty to the owner of the property and possibly eviction of the guest(s) if the rule violation continues.

Legal
Neither Dream Vacations Kauai (DVK) nor the condo owner shall be liable for events beyond our control which may interfere with Guest's arrival or occupancy, including but not limited to Acts of God, acts of government agencies, fire, strikes, war, inclement weather or travel delays. No full or partial rebate or refund will be offered in these circumstances.
DVK retains the right to enter the rented condo at anytime to inspect or to perform maintenance as needed regardless if Guest is present or not.
Guest is responsible for Guest and Guest's family and friends and all others that Guest permits to occupy, enter or use the condo ("Guest's Family and Friends"). Guests and Guest's Family and Friends will abide by all house rules of the AOAO of the resort condominium and any breach of these rules will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of all funds received.
Natural beauty surrounds Kauai but weather, surf, currents, ocean and land conditions may be unpredictable. Please use caution in the ocean and in any bodies of water, including the property's pool, and while hiking. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your family. Any ocean equipment provided with the condo, such as body boards and snorkels, and island guide books are for your enjoyment and to be used solely at your own risk. Fins are recommended for body boarding, snorkeling and swimming. Lifeguards are great resources for current ocean conditions.
